To greatly improve the operational capabilities of the Indian Army, India has launched a state-of-the-art battlefield surveillance system called the “Sanjay.” The system, which was created in partnership with the state-owned Bharat Electronics Limited, combines data from a variety of ground and aerial sensors to create a single, integrated “common surveillance picture” of the battlefield. This sophisticated capability is said to increase accuracy, reduce redundancy, and maximize the utilization of the nation’s Army Data Network and Satellite Communication Network.
