In order to integrate commercial 5G network solutions into a telecommunications base station for military wireless connection, Lockheed Martin and Verizon have collaborated with Nokia. Nokia’s military-grade 5G network offerings were hosted by Lockheed’s flagship 5G.MIL Hybrid Base Station (HBS), a unified ecosystem that integrates hybrid data exchange for multi-domain tactical applications, as part of the partnership. Testing included the transfer of data between Verizon’s Boston Innovation Center, Lockheed’s HBS components in Pennsylvania, and Nokia’s 5G portfolio.
