In a significant move to enhance the Indian Navy’s maritime strike capabilities, Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace has proposed equipping the Navy’s MH-60R Seahawk helicopters with its advanced Naval Strike Missile (NSM).
The Indian Navy currently operates nine MH-60R helicopters, with an additional 15 scheduled for delivery by the end of 2025. The integration of the NSM would considerably boost the fleet’s ability to conduct long-range engagements against surface and coastal targets, strengthening India’s maritime deterrence and operational reach.
