Raytheon has been awarded a $24.5 million contract modification by the U.S. Navy. This contract is specifically for the procurement of components to address “Megatron obsolescence” in support of Standard Missile-6 (SM-6) production. The work is scheduled to be completed by February 2027, with the Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington, D.C., serving as the contracting authority. This effort ensures the continued production and functionality of the crucial SM-6 missile, which is a multi-mission weapon used for anti-air warfare, anti-surface warfare, and ballistic missile defense.
