CAE Defense & Security has been awarded a contract to offer training support services for operators of sophisticated rotary-wing planes in the US Army.
The $180 million agreement provides “complete” training for around 900 pilots in instructor pilot, maintenance evaluator, and non-rated crewmember roles.
Those who will be participating are American and foreign citizens who need training on the Sikorsky UH-60M Black Hawk and Boeing CH-47F Chinook and AH-64E Apache helicopters.
The program is anticipated to increase the number of UH-60 instructors by twofold and broaden training support to meet the rising student population.
If all contractual options are exercised, CAE will be in charge of related operations for the first year, with the possibility of extension until 2030.
The initiative will be carried out in conjunction with the 110th Aviation Brigade, which is in charge of the service’s flight training initiatives, and the US Army Aviation Center of Excellence.
