Current Scientific Corporation, a Canadian developer of electro-optical infrared systems, has announced that its advanced surveillance solution has been selected for testing under the Government of Canada’s Innovation Solutions Canada (ISC) program following a competitive selection process.
The system will undergo evaluation by a Canadian law enforcement agency at a remote site on British Columbia’s west coast, as part of the ISC Testing Stream, which assesses pre-commercial innovations for potential future deployment.

The NN 8087-360 system combines a long-range HD mid-wave infrared camera, long-range HD day camera, and laser rangefinder in a gyro-stabilized pan-tilt-zoom platform. It integrates multiple high-definition thermal cameras to create a seamless, real-time 360-degree panoramic image.
Equipped with AI-driven object detection tailored for maritime traffic, the system delivers comprehensive, all-weather situational awareness, 24/7. Its cutting-edge design provides enhanced reliability, lower maintenance demands, and greater operational availability compared to traditional surveillance technologies.

CURRENT’s systems are already in use globally on vessels such as coast guard ships, super-yachts, paramilitary boats, ferries, icebreakers, and research vessels. The company also supplies land-based systems for coastal monitoring worldwide.
Innovation Solutions Canada, part of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, supports Canadian innovators through funding and real-world testing opportunities.
Current Scientific continues to invest in R&D to expand applications in safety, security, environmental protection, and conservation, with all processes certified under ISO 9001:2015.
