American defense manufacturer Gentex Corporation has been chosen to equip the Czech Republic’s armed forces with new ballistic helmets and communication systems as part of a major modernization effort. The deal, valued at more than one billion Czech korunas, was arranged via the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) to facilitate joint equipment procurement among allied nations. The agreement includes the delivery of Gentex’s well-known Ops-Core lightweight helmets, designed for high comfort and protection, along with AMP communication headsets and tactical accessories such as visors, respirators, and jaw guards. These items will enhance troop survivability and situational awareness across all mission types. According to the company, the systems are intended to provide integrated protection and seamless communication capabilities, allowing Czech soldiers to coordinate more effectively in high-stress conditions. NSPA will oversee production, logistics, and delivery timelines, while Gentex will handle fitting, user training, and after-sale technical support. Deliveries are expected to conclude by October 2026. The project reflects the Czech Republic’s continued investment in advanced personal protective equipment and the growing cooperation between European armed forces and US defense suppliers. Gentex’s selection reinforces the long-standing partnership between NATO members, ensuring interoperability and operational readiness for modern conflicts.
