France’s Naval Group has expanded its local industrial partnerships for the Netherlands’ next-generation Orka-class submarines, signing new agreements with Nevesbu and Van Halteren Technologies during a defense event in Rotterdam. The companies strengthen the Team Orka ecosystem supporting the replacement of the Royal Netherlands Navy’s Walrus-class submarines. The arrangement supports an Industrial Cooperation Agreement between Naval Group and Amsterdam’s economic authorities, aimed at enhancing national know-how, future sustainment independence, and bilateral maritime ties. Nevesbu will contribute advanced subsystem design, focusing on stealth performance and high-precision integration. Van Halteren will deliver essential onboard systems—including hydraulic power units, refrigeration equipment, anchor mechanisms, and capstans—engineered to meet demanding standards for durability, low weight, and shock tolerance.
