Elbit Systems America has secured a $49.9 million contract from the US Army to deliver heads-up display technology for Black Hawk and Chinook helicopters. The HUD system enables pilots to view flight and mission data without diverting attention from their surroundings, improving mission effectiveness and safety. As part of the broader Air Soldier System program, the upgrade introduces lighter and more advanced equipment to replace legacy systems. The HUD enhances real-time decision-making by presenting key information within the pilot’s field of vision. Scheduled to run until the end of the decade, the contract also covers long-term support, reinforcing the Army’s efforts to modernize its aviation capabilities and improve crew survivability.
