Rauma Marine Constructions has started production of the fourth Pohjanmaa-class corvette, placing all four ships of Finland’s Squadron 2020 program under construction simultaneously. The first vessel has already been launched and is undergoing outfitting, while hull work progresses on the remaining ships. Designed for year-round Baltic operations, the Pohjanmaa-class will replace seven older vessels and form the backbone of Finland’s future surface fleet. The corvettes are equipped with anti-ship missiles, torpedoes, air-defense systems, and advanced sensors integrated through Saab’s 9LV combat management system.
