The Missile Defense Agency has completed a major milestone by testing the SPY-7 radar against live targets, supporting its deployment on Japan’s ASEV warships. Working with Lockheed Martin and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, the exercise confirmed its advanced tracking and engagement capabilities. The radar can detect multiple threats simultaneously, including hypersonic missiles, while filtering decoys. Its scalable architecture allows adaptation across naval platforms. With a long detection range and high precision, it significantly enhances missile defense systems. Future deployments include fleets in Japan, Canada, and Spain.
