At a special operations tech conference in Martignas Sur Jalle, France, Thales debuted its new Panoramic next-generation night vision goggles. The solution, which is intended for important tasks like counterterrorism and extraction, has four light amplification tubes that give dismounted troops a greater peripheral field of view without having to turn their heads. The gadget is no wider than a helmet and has an ergonomic design that weighs 740 grams (1.6 pounds).
