As part of a government contract signed in 2023, HII has provided the US Navy with the first Lionfish small unmanned underwater systems. The tranche includes the first two of nine vehicles ordered in support of the force’s program to adopt next-generation autonomous subsurface systems. The contract is worth more than $347 million and includes the option of delivering 200 more drones through 2028. The company offers engineering services, floating, and auxiliary support gear for the navy in addition to the platforms.
