The Russian Navy revealed intentions to upgrade its Ivan Gren-class landing ships with the new Project 117113 Cayman. At the International Maritime Defense Show “Fleet-2024” in Kronstadt, the Nevskoye Design Bureau—which is under the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC)— unveiled its new variation. The Project 117113 Cayman seeks to improve the Russian Navy’s capabilities in troop landings, combat vehicle transportation, and cargo transportation. It overcomes the restrictions seen in previous versions and integrates operational input.
