The Indian Army has awarded MKU Limited a ₹6.6 billion ($75 million) contract to supply 29,762 units of the Netro NW 3000 Night Vision Weapon Sights, one of the army’s largest electro-optics orders to date. The contract, finalized under the defense ministry’s emergency procurement powers, supports the government’s “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiative aimed at advancing domestic defense manufacturing. Designed and produced under the Indigenous Designed, Developed, and Manufactured category, the Netro NW 3000 is compatible with standard assault rifles and enhances target detection and engagement in low-light and night conditions. MKU’s sights have undergone extensive field trials demonstrating their reliability and accuracy across diverse terrains. The sights are part of MKU’s growing electro-optics portfolio under its Netro Optronics division, developed to improve soldiers’ night combat capabilities through enhanced clarity, range, and ease of operation. MKU, which supplies protective gear and electro-optics to over 230 security forces worldwide, plans ongoing investments in indigenous manufacturing to support India’s modernization and operational readiness.
