Indra is integrating an AI-driven system into its simulators that enables the creation of tactical training scenarios in just minutes—dramatically cutting down what previously took days and considerable effort.
Unveiled at the Paris Air Show, this innovative feature is being rolled out in new simulators and will gradually be added to existing systems in service.
Simulators have long been a fundamental tool for mission preparation, recreating realistic environments that mirror terrain, and the movements and tactics of both allied and enemy forces. Traditionally, generating these detailed scenarios required weeks or months of work by skilled personnel.
By leveraging advanced AI models like Large Language Models (LLM), Indra’s new tool accelerates scenario creation while improving realism, revolutionizing military training and mission planning.
Instructors simply provide input—written or spoken—detailing mission parameters, and the system generates a fully populated synthetic environment with accurate platform positions, routes, speeds, and friend-or-foe designations.
Training can start within minutes, with real-time adjustments possible. The AI learns from instructor modifications, tailoring future scenarios to individual preferences for greater efficiency.
This addition complements Indra’s existing AI capabilities used to simulate other platforms during exercises and advances new simulation concepts linked to Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) and Modeling and Simulation as a Service (MSaaS).
Indra is also a leader in defense AI applications, having recently launched IndraMind, an intelligence system aimed at automating critical operations and enhancing multi-domain superiority.
