India is modernizing its naval fleet with advanced propulsion technology through a deal with Kongsberg Maritime. The new missile vessels will use Kamewa waterjets, which provide faster speeds, better maneuverability, and quieter operation compared to traditional propellers. Built by Cochin Shipyard, these ships are designed for high-speed missions, including maritime strikes and defending key sea routes. Powered by engines from GE Aerospace, the vessels will offer strong performance and flexibility. This development reflects India’s focus on enhancing naval capabilities with modern, efficient technologies suited for dynamic maritime operations.
