Rolls-Royce will supply marine propulsion and handling solutions for Canada’s River-class destroyer project under a new contract agreement. The company will outfit each of the first three ships with high-performance power systems to support mission flexibility.

The contract includes an MT30 gas turbine, a Mission Bay Handling System, and MTU 4000 diesel generators per vessel. While the gas turbine and handling system contracts are already in place with Irving Shipbuilding, negotiations for the diesel component are ongoing with Canadian licensee Wajax Power Systems.
