The Pentagon has selected six small businesses to support the construction of Virginia-class submarines under a newly signed $5-billion defense contract. This effort, led by the Defense Logistics Agency, aims to ensure timely and efficient procurement for critical U.S. Navy assets.
Titled the Maritime Acquisition Advancement Contract, the agreement is structured as an IDIQ contract with options that could raise the total value to $10 billion over five years. Companies onboard include S&K Aerospace, SupplyCore, ASRC Federal, Atlantic Diving Supply, Culmen International, and Fairwinds Technologies. Their tasks involve supplying integrated weapons systems and related services.
