Rheinmetall of Germany and Poland’s defense group PGZ have agreed to form a joint venture called the European Support Vehicles Center to design and manufacture new military support platforms for the Polish Armed Forces. The MoU outlines plans to develop armored recovery vehicles, mine-clearing systems, and bridge-laying equipment that will enhance Poland’s logistical and engineering capabilities. Rheinmetall, known for its Keiler NG mine-clearing vehicle and other armored solutions, already maintains a subsidiary in Warsaw to support local cooperation. PGZ, Poland’s umbrella defense conglomerate, coordinates dozens of state-owned enterprises involved in vehicle production and weapon manufacturing. The new center is expected to serve as a regional hub for supply-chain integration, technical training, and export development of support vehicles across Europe. The venture underscores Poland’s ambition to expand its defense industrial base through foreign partnerships while reinforcing its strategic autonomy within NATO. Rheinmetall’s technical expertise and PGZ’s manufacturing infrastructure will enable rapid local production of next-generation support assets tailored to the needs of the Polish Army.
