The Republic of Korea Air Force has officially introduced its first tactical training and flight simulation system powered by reinforcement learning (RL). The simulator, developed by Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), uses a virtual aircraft platform integrated with real-world tactical data, enabling the system to train itself through trial and error. Reinforcement learning rewards correct tactical decisions, gradually refining strategies without direct human programming. This innovative tool will allow pilots to explore battle simulations, optimize tactics, and test mission plans more efficiently. It marks a significant step for South Korea in building AI-driven combat readiness.
