To bolster national defense preparedness, LIG Nex1 has secured a 3.4 billion won (around $24 million) deal to develop a counter-ballistic missile simulation system for South Korea. Expected to be operational by 2028, the system will emulate a wide array of missile threats, enabling realistic and integrated defense training in simulated combat conditions.

As reported by the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA), the model will digitally replicate the full sequence of missile defense — from initial launch detection to interception, counter-strike, and post-impact analysis — through advanced simulation technology. This initiative is set to enhance both operational response and technological capabilities within the domestic defense sector.

Furthermore, the system is anticipated to improve execution of the Korean Three-Axis strategy, which consists of strategic preemptive measures, missile interception capabilities, and retaliatory plans, thereby reinforcing the nation’s security infrastructure.
