German software company SAP SE has opened a new defense innovation hub in Munich aimed at strengthening digital readiness for military and security customers facing growing cyber and hybrid threats. The center reflects SAP’s long-term commitment to supporting operational resilience across armed forces, allied networks, and defense supply chains. By integrating data analytics, artificial intelligence, and sector expertise, the facility will focus on logistics, arms sales oversight, manufacturing, training, and sustainment solutions. Board member Thomas Saueressig said digital systems are increasingly central to mission preparedness, regulatory compliance, and operational autonomy. Munich’s defense and academic ecosystem, including the Technical University of Munich’s Security and Defense Alliance, will support collaboration and next-generation capability development.
