The Pentagon has awarded Tetramer Technologies $12.5 million to integrate MOF bead technology into combat suits for CBRN defense. MOFs trap and neutralize hazardous substances, creating lighter, more protective gear. The program spans five years and involves testing fabrics with support from Kappler and Advanced Functional Fabrics of America. The aim is to develop military-standard suits that shield soldiers in high-threat zones while remaining functional and wearable. The effort could transform battlefield protective clothing by cutting exposure risks.
