Scout AI and Hendrick Motorsports Technical Solutions (HMS) have introduced NOMAD, a next-generation unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) integrating the Fury autonomy system. NOMAD is the second UGV platform to incorporate Scout’s autonomy architecture and the first to leverage its fastest foundation model. The system prioritizes autonomy speed rather than vehicle movement, emphasizing reduced latency, accelerated decision loops, and optimization for compact, low-power vehicles. NOMAD’s AI-driven autonomy enables agile decision-making in dynamic environments, supporting both military and commercial applications. The partnership combines Scout AI’s experience in autonomy with HMS’s engineering expertise to produce a highly adaptable robotic system. NOMAD’s design reflects growing trends in autonomy where speed of decision-making is as critical as physical performance. By utilizing a scalable autonomy model, the platform can integrate across different vehicle sizes and power classes. The collaboration aims to provide operators with reduced workloads while improving real-time responsiveness in the field. NOMAD’s development represents a step toward future robotic systems capable of independent missions with minimal human oversight, enhancing the efficiency of autonomous operations across multiple domains.
