Rheinmetall has secured an order from Sweden to provide Seasnake 30 naval gun systems for the Combat Boat 90 assault craft.

The €63 million contract covers eight systems, along with airburst and training ammunition, spare parts, and related services over four years. An option exists for 29 additional units, with deliveries beginning in February 2028.

The Seasnake 30 combines advanced optical sensors and a laser rangefinder for automated target engagement and multi-threat tracking. Its 30mm revolver cannon achieves a firing rate of 1,100 rounds per minute.

This procurement makes Sweden the first NATO operator of the platform. The weapon will serve in an anti-aircraft capacity for amphibious battalions, enhanced by the Spexer 2000 3D MkIII Naval radar from Hensoldt.
