Rheinmetall has been given a framework follow-on contract for the purchase of soldier-systems for up to 3.1 billion euros ($3.2 billion) by the German defense procurement agency. The largest soldier-system contract ever will see the production and delivery of a maximum of 368 Infantry Soldier of the Future – Enhanced System (IdZ-ES) platoon systems by 2030. A platoon system includes 34 individual soldier-systems along with peripheral elements such as “IT-equipment, optics, optronics, as well as military clothing, protection, and carrying equipment.”
