As part of an agreement inked in June, Turkish shipbuilder STM has begun cutting the steel for three Ada-class corvettes for the Royal Malaysian Navy.The ceremony, which took place at the company’s Istanbul plant, marks the official start of the ships’ manufacturing phase, which is scheduled to conclude by the middle of 2028. Once finished, the fleet, also known as the Littoral Mission Ships (LMS), will be used by the Southeast Asian government for “a wide range of missions” in open waters.
