Turkey has signed a €1.6-billion ($1.9 billion) contract with Aselsan for new air defense systems under the “Steel Dome” program. Deliveries between 2027–2031 aim to reduce reliance on foreign systems after strained NATO relations following Turkey’s S-400 purchase. The initiative includes 47 critical subsystems and a new European production hub.
