The Turkish Navy has started building three locally manufactured ships: the MILDEN submarine, the MUGEM aircraft carrier, and a TF-2000 destroyer. To mark the occasion, a symbolic first weld of the submarine was performed at the Gölcük Shipyard. The inaugural sheet metal cutting of the navy’s aircraft carrier and destroyer, meanwhile, was carried out at the Istanbul Shipyard.
