The Turkish Navy has officially commissioned the domestically developed Sancar armed unmanned surface vehicle, marking a significant expansion of its autonomous maritime warfare capabilities. Jointly produced by Havelsan and Yonca Shipyard, the platform operates using the Advent combat management system, enabling autonomous mission execution and network-centric operations compliant with NATO standards. Designed with a modular architecture, Sancar supports reconnaissance, surveillance, intelligence collection, and surface combat missions. The USV integrates AI-driven image processing and secure communications while enabling coordinated swarm operations with other naval assets. Armed with Roketsan missile launchers and an Aselsan remote weapon station, the vessel enhances Turkey’s ability to protect maritime infrastructure and conduct operations in contested waters.
