“The UK is investing over one billion pounds ($1.3 billion) in building a new offensive cyber team and developing an artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled targeting network designed to speed up digital warfare activities.
With possible responsibilities such as disrupting enemy networks, carrying out information operations, and assisting in larger military operations, the new Cyber and Electromagnetic Command will spearhead the UK’s offensive cyber activities.
Additionally, it will improve the defense of the UK military’s digital infrastructure against cyberattacks.
The defense ministry has recorded more than 90,000 cyberattacks against the UK’s military infrastructure over the last two years, the majority of which have been attributed to state-linked players like China and Russia.
