Washington has authorized two major $500-million FMS proposals to support Saudi Arabia’s helicopter operations. The logistics package grants Saudi forces streamlined access to US maintenance networks for their Apache, Black Hawk, Chinook, and training helicopters. The companion training proposal allows the US Army to deliver pilot and maintainer training across multiple aircraft types. The US states these initiatives will enhance Saudi aviation readiness and deepen bilateral cooperation without impacting regional power dynamics or increasing US military presence.
