The US Army has awarded AeroVironment a $117 million contract for its P550 unmanned aerial system, designed for long-range reconnaissance missions. Its vertical takeoff capability and extended endurance make it suitable for complex missions, including surveillance and target acquisition. The program supports the Pentagon’s broader efforts to expand drone capabilities and improve battlefield awareness. Completion of deliveries is scheduled for 2026.
