General Atomics Aeronautical Systems is expanding its footprint in command-and-control and intelligence software through a new partnership with Qatar’s Barzan Holdings. The two companies have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly develop advanced battle management software designed to improve theater-level situational awareness. The collaboration brings together GA-ASI, its data-focused subsidiary GA-Intelligence, and Barzan to develop tools capable of rapidly processing, correlating, and distributing intelligence from multiple sources. According to the companies, the software will support faster and more informed decision-making across complex, multi-domain operations. The Qatar agreement aligns with GA-ASI’s recent strategy shift toward software, sensors, and integration rather than aircraft sales alone. Similar efforts include cooperation with Saab to explore airborne early warning and control solutions using the MQ-9B platform, as well as ongoing partnerships with the UAE’s EDGE Group and South Korea’s Hanwha Aerospace to support maritime surveillance and unmanned intelligence missions.
