Taiwan is reviewing a fixed-site counter-unmanned aircraft acquisition project following repeated evaluation trials that reportedly failed to satisfy operational performance requirements established by defense authorities. The planned systems were designed to provide long-range detection of small, low-signature drones while employing electronic attack capabilities to disrupt hostile unmanned aircraft before they entered protected areas. However, prototype verification and acceptance assessments reportedly exposed performance limitations that prevented the systems from meeting required operational standards.
