The US Air Force has contracted Textron Systems for $41 million to develop sustainment simulators supporting the T-7A Advanced Pilot Training Program. The three-year effort includes building fuselage structures for simulators that provide realistic, hands-on maintenance training for ground personnel, covering inspections, component removal, and system assessments. Additional options could raise total program value to $62 million. Textron will execute the work at its Goose Creek facility, collaborating with Akima’s Pinnacle Solutions in Alabama, reinforcing the service’s capacity to prepare maintainers for operational T-7A aircraft.
