The Shark-M unmanned aerial vehicle, which can perform deep reconnaissance and function as a signal repeater for strike drones, was recently released by the Ukrainian company Ukrspecsystems. The Shark-M has the same 3.4-meter (11-foot) wingspan as its predecessor, the Shark-D, but its extended communications range of up to 180 kilometers (111 miles) makes it better suited for long-distance operations. Because of batteries that have 170 percent more power than those used in earlier unmanned aerial vehicle designs, the Shark-M can fly for up to seven hours in a variety of weather situations, both day and night.
