For the US Army, AeroVironment has been awarded a contract to provide its flagship Switchblade loitering munition systems. The $288 million deal is a component of a five-year contract that the corporation received last year and that mandated the kamikaze drone in its 300 and 600 variations. If all options are exercised, the long-term framework will total $990 million. AeroVironment already accepted the initial order in August 2024. Last month saw the announcement of a second request.
