Germany has reaffirmed its military support for Ukraine by awarding Diehl Defence a €2.2 billion contract to supply four IRIS-T surface-launched systems, each with advanced radar, launch vehicles, and command units.
The IRIS-T’s proven capability to engage targets up to Mach 3 makes it one of Europe’s most sophisticated defense platforms for intercepting aerial and missile threats.
Once delivered, the new units will supplement previously deployed IRIS-T systems, which have already shown strong performance in defending Ukrainian infrastructure against Russian attacks.
