Canada’s Department of Defence is preparing to acquire tactical unmanned aerial systems (UAS) to support the country’s upcoming fleet of F-35 fighter jets. According to unclassified documents cited by The Canadian Press, the initiative aims to align with the military’s operational needs and enhance overall combat capability.

The program is estimated to be worth up to 16 billion Canadian dollars ($11.6 billion) and could involve the recruitment of hundreds of personnel. The systems are intended to serve as a force multiplier, improving interoperability with allied forces.
