The invention of a machine gun with an amazing firing rate of 450,000 rounds per minute, per barrel, has been announced by a group of Chinese scientists and engineers. According to the developers, the weapon, which was created in Taiyuan, a manufacturing center in central China, may have up to five barrels, giving it a possible maximum rate of fire of two million rounds per minute. The machine gun’s high rate of fire is said to make it capable of engaging and intercepting hypersonic targets that move at speeds more than Mach 7.
