Nagpur-based Economic Explosives Ltd (EEL) has significantly boosted India’s indigenous unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) capabilities by establishing the largest private-sector runway and testing facility for long-range drones in the country. This state-of-the-art facility, featuring a 1.4 km runway, will be crucial for the development and refinement of EEL’s Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) UAV, which the company has proposed for the Indian Armed Forces. The new facility is set to accelerate the testing and development of this vital platform, marking a key milestone in India’s journey towards self-reliance in drone technology.
