Egypt and China have expanded defense cooperation with a new MoU between AOI and NORINCO to jointly manufacture tactical UAVs. The partnership introduces the Hamza-2 drone—derived from the ASN-209 design and armed for both surveillance and strike roles. The announcement came during the EDEX exhibition, where Egypt also secured industrial agreements with UAE partners and broadened its manufacturing collaboration with Dassault for Rafale components. Cairo aims to enhance local production capacity and reinforce its role as a regional defense-industrial hub.
