Exail has a contract to provide an unspecified European country with a fleet of five DriX H-8 uncrewed surface vehicles (USVs).
The USV will be utilized for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions.
The DriX H-8, which was originally designed for hydrographic expeditions, has the ability to carry a wide variety of payloads in order to gather high-quality data in both shallow and deep seas.
The French company has not given any more information about the arrangement. The USV is capable of supervised autonomous operation or remote control and can operate in sea state class 5.
The platform can move at a speed of 14 knots (26 km/16 mi) for 24 hours and 7 knots (13 km/8 mi) for seven days.
At a speed of four knots (7.4 kilometers/4.6 miles), it can complete a ten-day mission.
The 7.71-meter (25.29-foot) platform has a draft of 2 meters (6.56 feet) and a displacement of 1.4 tons (14,000 kg/30,800 lbs).
The USV has a fuel capacity of 250 liters (66 gallons) and an average fuel consumption rate of 2 liters (0.5 gallons) per hour thanks to its 38 horsepower diesel engine.
