Finland has authorized the acquisition of AIM-120D-3 AMRAAM missiles to arm its incoming F-35A fleet, strengthening beyond-visual-range air combat capability. Procured via the US Foreign Military Sales channel, the package includes sustainment, training, and support services. The D-3 variant features modernized electronics and a software-centric architecture designed to counter evolving threats. Existing AMRAAM stocks will continue supporting Finland’s Hornet fleet and NASAMS air defense systems.
