The prototype for the HUGIN Superior autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV), which is part of a major U.S. Navy undersea drone initiative, was provided by Kongsberg Discovery. The acceptance trials for the prototype were successfully finished in Norway earlier this year. Prior to that, a Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) squad had carried out a thorough technology evaluation of the platform last year.
