India’s DRDO has successfully conducted the maiden test of its Integrated Air Defence Weapon System (IADWS), a cutting-edge platform combining missiles and high-energy lasers to counter aerial threats. The system merges quick-reaction missiles, short-range interceptors, and a directed-energy laser, creating a multi-layered shield against drones, low-flying aircraft, and other hostile targets. The inclusion of a laser weapon allows for faster, more precise engagements, strengthening India’s indigenous defense technology and providing cost-effective protection.
