As part of the premium segment of the VLTP program, the French DGA has placed an order for 530 SERVAL vehicles through the temporary joint venture between KNDS France and Texelis. Among these, 24 SERVAL C-UAV vehicles will begin delivery to the French Army starting in 2028, offering a robust counter-UAV capability. The French Military Programming Law (LPM) ultimately calls for acquiring 48 such systems.
SERVAL C-UAV: The Latest Addition to a Versatile Family
Fitted with the ARX®30 remotely-operated turret developed by KNDS France, the SERVAL C-UAV delivers close-in protection for high-value assets. This marks the 23rd variant of the SERVAL platform, which also includes versions for electronic warfare, medical evacuation, troop transport, VSHORAD, and command posts. The strength of the SCORPION program lies in its flexibility: KNDS France continues to innovate solutions tailored to evolving, complex operational theaters, such as the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
The SERVAL C-UAV is armed with the high-elevation, rapid-fire ARX®30 30mm cannon. Its radar and radiofrequency detection capabilities, combined with Airburst munition deployment, make it a critical asset in counter-UAV operations.
SERVAL C-UAV: A Critical Asset for Tactical Protection
Leveraging its expertise in weapons and ammunition, KNDS France offers a comprehensive counter-UAV system that provides operational superiority against aerial threats. The DGA contract also includes the development of a 30mm Airburst munition by KNDS France.
The ARX®30’s 30mm cannon is part of a complete system featuring a 3D radar, omnidirectional RF detector, targeting system, turret, and the dedicated 30mm Airburst rounds. This integrated solution—from detection to neutralization—is adaptable for multiple platforms including land, air, and sea, addressing a broad spectrum of operational requirements.
