Kongsberg Defence Australia has secured its first overseas contracts for Naval Strike Missile (NSM) launchers and command-and-control consoles. A AU$50-million ($32-million) deal will see the company supply Australian-made launchers to Spain and Denmark — marking the first time these systems have been produced outside Europe or the US. In addition, Poland has signed a AU$30-million ($19.5-million) contract for NSM Coastal Defence System consoles, supplementing its earlier $2.19-billion purchase of NSM equipment in 2023. The exports underscore the growing role of Australia as a defense production hub.
